C. Robertson at 410-962-3788 The Army Corps of Engineers plans to award
a fixed price construction contract with a base plus two options. This
solicitation is unrestricted. The work consists of constructing
occupiable space within an existing structure (former motor pool) that
will house health care functions for the facility known as the TriCare
Clinic (involving the three branches of the Armed Forces) at the
Pentagon, Arlington, VA. Work includes the construction of all
mechanical, electrical, plumbing and interior finish improvements, so
as to make the space fully occupiable and in conformance with all
applicable codes. Option ''a'' to the base contract is the two-phased
renovation of Corridor 8 adjacent to the Clinic, which serves as the
main entrance for same. Option ''b'' provides a hydraulic elevator
designed for hospital use. The Government does not intend to hold
discussions. The Contract will be awarded to the technically qualified
offeror with the lowest price. Evaluation criteria include evidence of
experience with hospital/clinic construction projects costing at least
$20 million (three projects within the last five years), current
management team experience with hospital/clinic construction
experience, and experience with subcontractors. The project ranges in
cost from $10 to $25 million. All responsible sources may submit a
