The Department of the Navy United States Marine Corps Invites You To The Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton Industry Forum, Thursday, November 14, 1996 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Staff NCO Club MCB, Camp Pendleton, CA. This Industry Forum is being held to discuss Camp Pendleton's requirement for the development, maintenance and management of 145 to 200 new single and multi-family housing structures and the phased renovation, maintenance and management of 352 to 512 existing housing units at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, CA. The proposed contract will reflect an alliance between the Government and private industry and use combinations of many alternatives to traditional acquisition methods. These include various guarantees, commitments, and tools for investments by the Government with a privately financed business. The contractor will provide, operate and maintain the military family housing units for a period of 50 years, with a renewable option for 25 additional years. The Government will make available loan guarantees or direct loans, utility tap points, mandatory rent allotments for Basic Allowance of Quarters (BAQ) and Variable Housing Allowance (VHA), and provide a military housing referral and priority list for occupancy. In turn, the successful offeror will provide a complete housing community, including the construction of new units, renovation of existing units, management and maintenance of all acquired housing units, grounds maintenance of unoccupied and public areas associated with the housing community, construction and maintenance of new roads and infrastructure, reinvestments in ancillary features and community improvements, such as green areas, parks, picnic areas, day care centers, etc. The Request For Proposal (RFP) will be available in ``DRAFT'' form at the Forum. This Industry Forum will provide a briefing, question/answer session, legislative overview, and tour of the sites (9:00 a.m. day of forum).
