Officer. The U.S. Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement
Administration (DEA) is seeking to identify a substantial group of
manufacturers, developers and vendors who can provide intercept
equipment for wireline and wireless communications. The equipment to be
ordered must intercept communications from various media and networks
as allowed by law. Once intercepted, the dial digits and contents
(audio, data, etc.) must be decoded and passed on too a collection
point to be stored as evidence on each subject of a court-ordered
intercept. In additon, the information must be put into formats
acceptable to DEA and the courts. Providers of this equipment are asked
to submit capability information enabling DEA to construct a list
authorized vendors. Because of the nature of this requirement,
potential offerors must demonstrate that they have developed wireline
or wireless intercept equipment in the past and have a likelihood of
maintaining state of the art intercept equipment in the future. It is
intended that contracts will be designed to provide an expeditious way
of ordeing equipment in order to support DEA domestic and foreign
offices, as well as other domestic and foreign government agencies and
law enforcement organizations. Interested parites are not entitled to
receive bid and preparation costs as a result of this notice. See
