District Corps of Engineers intends to issue Phase I of a two-phased
Request for Proposal for Construction Services in support of the Base
Realignment and Closure (BRAC) 95, at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri,
which will include construction of: General Instruction Facility -
construction of approximately 300,000 square feet of classrooms,
support facilities, and administrative areas that will be required to
support Officer and advanced Noncommissioned Officer training
associated with the U.S. Army Military Police School and U.S. Army
Chemical School. Applied Instruction Facility - construction of
approximately 163,000 square feet of new facilities in several distinct
proposed construction areas. Applied instruction facilities are
designed to provide hands-on training similar to a vocational or trade
school. A Military police One Station Unit Training and Advanced Law
Enforcement Training area will be constructed that incorporates both
interior and exterior areas for Military Police training. An extension
to the existing Engineer Museum will be constructed to store
historical artifacts. A Decontamination Apparatus Training Facility
will be constructed which includes classrooms and exterior training
areas to instruct personnel on the proper use and maintenance of
decontamination equipment. Chemical Defense Training Facility -
construction of approximately 69,000 square feet of an applied
instruction area for training in the detection, identification and
decontamination of toxic chemical agents. This facility will include
controlled interior decontamination exercise areas, a medical clinic,
laboratory, classrooms, and the required support facilities.
Unaccompanied Enlisted Personnel Housing - construction of
approximately 349,000 square feet of new dormitory-style housing for
enlisted personnel. A total of 888 barracks spaces will be provided in
three new buildings. Each barracks will include a Soldier Community
Building with common use areas, and a new dining facility and
recreational facilities. General Officer Quarters - construction of two
new houses, each approximately 2,100 square feet. Phase I plans and
specifications will be available ONLY on CD ROM, and a set of CD's will
be available free of charge. Phase I will be available on or about 15
November 1996. Proposals for Phase I are due NLT 4:00 p.m. on or about
15 January 1997. A pre-proposal conference will be held on or about 11
December 1996 at Fort Leonard Wood. Phase II will only be issued to
those offerors who submitted a proposal on Phase I. SIC Code: 1542.
