This requirement is for engineering, services for programs related to information systems utilized for exchange of information within and among ships, aircraft, and shore facilities. Existing systems/programs to be supported include, but are not limited to, the Low Level Serial Switch (LLSS), High Speed Digital Switch (HSDS), Local Area Network (LAN) development site, electromagnetic pulse (EMP), and fiber optic communications systems. The contractor will perform systems engineering to include design, hardware and software development, system studies and analyses, data base development, system integration, system interfaces and technical documentation. This procurement has an estimated 390,000 labor hours among the following labor categories: Program Manager; Technical Manager; Senior Systems Engineer; Systems Engineer; Network Engineer; Engineer; Senior Programmer/Analyst; Systems Analyst; Network Operations Analyst; Programmer Analyst; Computer Resource Support Analyst; Senior Electronic Technician/Assembler; Electronic Technician; Fiber Optics Technician; Data Technician; Computer Operations Technician; Logistics Specialist; Parts Fabricator/Electronics Assembler; Senior Technical Writer; Design Draftsperson; Computer Operator/Program Librarian; Administrative Assistant and Clerk Typist/Word Processor.
