POC Bonnie M. McQuiston, Contracting Officer This is a solicitation for
commercial items in accordance with FAR 12. Potential sources sought to
provide the following oral system: (a) System should have an electric
motor and should be autoclavable. (b) It should have irrigation
capabilities and have a digital RPM readout. (c) The regular drill
should run at least 85,000 RPMs; accept both long & short burs such as
the 701s, 702s, 703s, 6s,8s, diamonds; and have a safety bur guard to
protect the patient's mouth. (d) The implant drill should have a range
of 9 to 40,000 RPMs. (e) The system's foot pedal should be water
resistant and can operate both forward & reverse. The foot pedal should
be able to turn the irrigation on and off. If the system can operate
both regular and implant drills, the foot pedal should be able to
switch between the drills if both are plugged into the console. All
responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered. Any
firm with equipment which meets the above characteristics should
