Fully competitive acquisition for replacement of the existing SEC dissemination contract through which the SEC fulfills its basic recordkeeping and data dissemination needs. The new contractor will be required to provide a range of high-volume document copying equipment and services to the SEC and the public at SEC Headquarters, the SEC Regional Offices, and the SEC Public Reference Rooms in Washington, D.C., New York, NY, and Chicago, IL. The technical solution under the current contract involves high-volume contractor production of : (a) paper printouts of EDGAR filings for SEC and public use; (b) silver microfilm and diazo microfiche of SEC paper filings for SEC internal use and to satisfy National Archives and Records Administration recordkeeping requirements; and (c) paper copies of microfiche of historical filings for SEC and public use. Such a solution will be considered in this solicitation. Proposed solutions that use alternative imaging technologies also will be considered. The RFP will be issued on or about November 15, 1996.
