POC: Jan Tedell, (309)782-4653 Specific skills, equipment, and
facilities required to manufacture subject fuzes are as follows: Skills
include machinists, tool/die personnel, test technicians, set up
personnel, quality control personnel, explosives experts, and process
engineers. Equipment used to manufacture these type of items include
screw machines; hobbing and gear cutting machines; drill, milling and
reaming centers; plating and heat treating equipment; environmental
testing equipment; die cast and plastic molding equipment; and special
test equipment. No Government furnished equipment will be provided for
the manufacture of these items. As the assembly of these items includes
explosive detonators and leads, the facilities must be capable of
storing and assembling explosive components. A respondent must have
available the appropriate maintenance, tooling, and manufacturing
engineering skills required to support quality production of these
items. A respondent must currently possess a majority of these
processes in-house and demonstrate provisions of obtaining the
remainder without significant delay. Technical data does exist for
these items. A detailed questionnaire, including top drawing data, may
be provided to survey respondents. Interested firms who feel they are
capable of and interested in manufacturing any of these items, based
on the above criteria, are invited to indicate their interest by
providing to the Government a list of items they are interested in
producing and a summary of their company's capabilities, including a
description of facilities, personnel, and past manufacturing
experiences. Information must be submitted within 20 calendar days from
the date of this publication to Mr. William Hyrkas, AMSIO-IRC,
(309)782-2469. This is a market survey for planning purposes only, and
shall not be construed as a request for Proposal or as an obligation
on the part of the Government. The Government does not intend to award
a contract on the basis of this market survey or otherwise pay for
information solicited. The information you provide will be utilized by
the U.S. Army in developing its acquisition approach for future
requirements. (0281) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0124 19961008\13-0001.SOL)
