Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWPNS), Point Mugu, CA intends to solicit using full and open procedures as ''Commercial Items'' per FAR parts 12 and 15 for ocean vessel(s) used for supporting U.S. Navy operations. NAWCWPNS Point Mugu conducts operations involving test and evaluation of various types of missiles and torpedoes which require at times vessels used to recover these assets from ocean bottom or surveys conducted of the test area. The contractor shall provide suitable vessel(s) with crew to support U.S. Navy operations. Minimum requirements for vessels will be provided in the solicitation. Boats will be used to support mine recovery by U.S. Navy or Government-authorized personnel, support shallow water splice and recovery of fiber optics communications underwater systems by U.S. Navy personnel. Vessels will be used to transport U.S. Navy divers and/or sea lions trained by the Navy to recover submerged objects. Comtemplated contract type: Firm Fixed Price Requirements Contract. Work will be assigned and funded on individual delivery orders. Anticipated contract duration: Base period of three years with one two-year option.
