Information regarding ordering plans and specifications is provided at
the end of this announcement. THIS PRESOLICITATION IS HEREBY BEING
ISSUED ON AN ''UNRESTRICTED'' BASIS INVITING FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION.
The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment,
transportation, and supervision to repair a section of roads and
utilities atthe Charleston Naval Station, Charleston, SC. Roadway work
consists of: (a)Provide construction survey with proposed roadway
centerline alignment marked every 100 feet stationing, (b)Provide
demolition work of concrete, asphalt and grassed surfaces,(c)Provide
new concrete curb and gutter and sidewalks, (d)Provide new stormwater
catch basins, curb inlets, and HDPE conveyance pipe, (e)Provide new
site landscaping, water service, 2'' road crossing sleeves, (f)Provide
new street lighting and electricalsystem, (g)Provide road alignment,
widening subbase compaction, base course, asphalt concrete leveling
course, and asphalt concrete surface and overlay of Avenue ''D'',
Turnbull Avenue, Hobson Avenue, and McMillan Avenue, and (h)Provide
roadway strippingand signage. Utility work consists of: (a)Construction
of a new 21'' PVC sanitary sewer with manholes offset from the existing
21'' clay sewer pipe alignment and tie-in at the two existing manholes.
The existing 21'' clay sewer system is to be taken outof service and
filled with flowable fill. Abandoned sanitary sewer manholes are to be
demolished in-place with roadway restoration. Provide eight inch PVC
lateral extension, temporary sewage pumping for manhole connection and
line change over work,and (b)Take out service, demolish, abandon
in-place, and provide new connections of 6 through 14 inch potable
water lines with placement and service testing. Provide new and
relocate fire hydrant assemblies. For Plans and Specifications: There
