Rowland, 315-476-7461, ext 3599 Readjustment Counseling services to eligible veterans referred by the VA in Syracuse, NY. Readjustment Counseling, for purposes of this contract is counseling provided by Social Workers, psychologists, Psychiatrists, or other counselors, individually or in concert, to ameliorate social, psychological, or behavioral impairment which interferes with individual Vietnam-era Veterans' relationships, or overall ability to cope with problems encountered in daily life. Readjustment counseling services constitute social and psychological counseling to include individual, group and family counseling, job and career counseling (other than job training, skills development and placement services), and substance skills development andabuse counseling. While the provision of medications and physical examinations are not to be considered a component of readjustment counseling services and will not be provided under this contract mechanism, offerors will be expected to have the capability directly or through arrangements to provide physical assessments, medical treatment and therapy. This RFP will be issued for a contract to be awarded providing service in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence, NY counties. RFP is expected to be issued on or about 10/7/96 for service to be provided beginning December 1, 1996 for a one year period with two (2) additional years.
