The Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center is seeking qualified
sources to consider an award of a contract for thirteen (13) each
Tackle Blocks, Crosby Group/McKissick Division P/N 8000979, Drawing
Number M871010E, Model 623-S, used on the 180' WLB Buoy Tender Boom
Systems. Blocks shall have triple 18'' diameter sheaves, heavy oval
pattern, 45 ton capacity (90,000 lbs.), maximum tackle diameter .875''
wire rope, galvanized finish. The form, fit, and function of these
Tackle Blocks must be exactly compatible with the system for which it
is intended. The Government does not possess copies of the
manufacturer's drawing or engineering data. It is the Government's
belief that only the Original Equipment Manufacturer, The Crosby Group,
McKissick Division, or their authorized distributors can provide the
Tackle Blocks. However, other potential sources having the expertise
and required capabilities can submit such data discussing the same in
duplicate within 15 days from the date of this announcement. The
following information must be provided to evaluate the acceptability of
the offered Tackle Blocks: (1) complete and current engineering data to
demonstrate the acceptability of the offered Tackle Blocks (i.e.,
salient, physical, functional, and serviceability characteristics) or
(2) Data that the offered Tackle Blocks have been satisfactorily
manufactured for the Government or the Original Equipment Manufacturer.
No cost or pricing data is required. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. THIS
IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. This synopsis is issued pursuant to
FAR 5.207(e)(3) and TAM 1205.207. See Numbered Note 22. This Notice is
for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned, and Disadvantaged
Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of
Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to
assist minority, women-owned, and disadvantaged business enterprises
to acquire short-term working capital assistance for
transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide
accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
