SOUGHT POC Contract Specialist, Peter J Nerret (301) 504-0444/1148. The
Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is seeking to identify
Engineering Firms with analysis/testing laboratory facilities within a
75-mile radius of the CPSC staff offices which are located in
Bethesda, Maryland. The Engineering Firm shall be qualified and able to
conduct Quick Response Engineering Analysis and/or Testing of Products
for Defects on a task order basis. A quick response task order is
defined as a task that is performed within approximately two (2) to six
(6) weeks. The items to be analyzed and/or tested may be any consumer
product, as defined in the Consumer Product Safety Act. The products to
be tested may be new, used, incident units or a combination of these.
The Engineering Firms shall be capable in the Mechanical and Electrical
Engineering disciplines as well as the Scientific disciplines of
Metallurgy, Thermal and Chemical analysis. This is not a formal Request
for Proposal (RFP). However, firms that respond should furnish detailed
information concerning their capabilities. Interested firms shall
respond with capability information within 15 calendar days of this
