The U.S. Department Of Energy is planning to fund a geothermal heat
pump profitability analysis and is soliciting interest and
capabilities. One of the goals is to develop a ''proforma''
profitability analysis for major geothermal heat pump (GHP) programs
designed to capture: annual sales of 10-25,000 GHP's per year for the
larger utilities, strong market share penetration on excess of 20% in
selected markets, and energy service companies (ESCO's) which emphasize
GHP's. Based on the result of the 'proforma', a second phase may be
funded to work with utilities and/or ESCO's to assist in designing a
profitable GHP program. This announcement is not a Request for Quotes
(RFQ). The written quotations will be available October 3, 1996. All
requests for copies of the RFQ must be submitted in writing (facsimile
preferred) to Connie H. Osborne, Contract Specialist, fax number (208)
526-5548. The anticipated award date is November 15, 1996. This is a
simplified acquisition and the DOE~s Idaho Operations Office, threshold
is $100,000. This is a 100 percent Small Business Set-aside procurement
in which all responsible sources may submit a quotation which, if
timely received, shall be considered by the agency. (0256) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0010 19960913\B-0002.SOL)
