Smith, Contracting Officer, 301/713-0823x135 or fax 301/713-0806 NOAA intends to award a purchase order under simplified acquisition procedures for a commercial service to supply, transport, and accurately place 600 cubic yards (cy) of loose stone on the bottom of Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island, to create a Lobster Habitat Enhancement Area. The Contractor shall supply 600 cubic yards of bank-run gravel of approved composition, of which 200 cy shall be of 1.25 inches - 4 inches diameter, and 400 cy shall be 8 inch - 16 inch diameter. The Contractor shall load materials and transport materials on land and water to NOAA specified placement site in the West Passage of Narragansett Bay. Depth of water at placement site shall be approximately 16 feet at mean low water. The Contractor shall accurately place stone under water in a NOAA specified pattern of six (6) habitat units on the bottom sediments of Narragansett Bay as specified in the Statement of Work and as directed on-site by the NOAA Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR). NOAA shall obtain the necessary Federal and State permits. The Contractor shall be required to provide written evidence of a minimum of $2 million in general liability insurance. The period of performance shall be 30 days from contract award.
