A -- DATA PRODUCTS USING THE REALTIME GLOBAL AREA COVERAGE MEASUREMENTS FROM AVHRR INSTRUMENTATION. NASA GSFC intends to negotiate with the University of Colorado for the development of software to produce near realtime data products from the currently operational Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) instruments aboard the NOAA polar orbiting satellites. The products to be developed will be made available to the public by the GSFC Distributed Active Archive Center. Raw GAC data will be transformed into useful geophysical quantities available as both research-quality products as well as online images suitable for browsing on the WWW. Only the University of Colorado has the combination of scientific expertise and support infrastructure to enable delivery of the realtime, worldwide GAC data required as input to the processing software on a timely daily basis. It is anticipated that this procurement will be conducted under simplified acquisition procedures. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 7371. All responsible sources may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of capability, including detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating the ability to meet the above requirement, within 15 days of this notice, to the above address. The response must be sufficient to permit agency analysius to establish a bonafide capability to meet the requirements. All such responses shall be fully considered by NASA. See Note 25.
