44135 A -- ENGINE VALIDATION OF NOISE REDUCTION CONCEPTS POC Ruben Del
Rosario, Project Manager, (216) 433-5679, MS 11-3. The Lewis Research
Center is planning a procurement to validate in an Engine Test noise
reduction concepts and technologies that have evolved from model
testing. Model tests have been performed to develop fan and jet noise
reduction concepts through advanced fan stage designs, mixers, active
noise control and liners. The Advanced Subsonic Technologies' Noise
Reduction Program goal is to validate technology that reduces engine
noise 6EPNdB and improves nacelle suppression effectiveness by 50%
relative to 1992, technology. It is desirable to identify engines that
can either be furnished at no cost to the program and/or be tested in
conjunction with another test program. Engine tests need to be done,
either statically or in a large aeroacoustic wind tunnel, to verify
that model data results can be realized in an engine environment. All
interested parties may submit information for evaluation of their R&D
capabilities to the above project manager. See Numbered Note: 25.
