The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization, ComputerTechnology Division, Procurement Branch (DITCO-DTS42), Scott AFB IL, intends to issue a sole source contractto SIMWARE, #2 Gurdwara Road, Ottawa, CA K2E1A-2. This acquisition allows for the sustainment of existingexecutive software licenses from Simware, whether leased or owned, while also providing the ability to addlease/maintenance coverage as the DISA inventory grows either as a result of the consolidations or replacement ofsoftware products via other procurement actions. This supports continuity of operations during the DISAconsolidation efforts in response to the DMRDs and Base Realignment and Closures (BRAC) byretaining the current executive software operating environment. All the executive software lease/maintenancesupport services from Simware are for Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) Software for which DISA is responsible.Maintenance services consist of: regularly recurring maintenance; new releases and versions (at no additional cost);right to bring DISA facilities up to the same release level; corrections, revisions with best effort for error detectionand correction of reported errors; enhancements to current products with accompanying instructions forimplementation and operation; and technical support for operational questions, problems or failures. Thisacquisition provides the ability to implement machine group upgrades through the highest group level when newCPUs are delivered or workload leveling requires loading the software onto a different CPU at the DISA facility.This acquisition allows for the inclusion of lease/maintenance services for additional executive software productsjustified and purchased via separate contracting actions. Executive Software is defined as: Operating Systems,System Administration, Data Base, Interactive Systems (On-Line), Communications, Network Access Control,Systems Security, Bridging, Network Management, Graphics, Training, and Customer Assistance software. Thecentral site identification will be DISA Computer Systems Engineering, 4375 Chidlaw Road, Wright-PattersonAFB, OH 45433-5006. The resultant contract will be a 60 month (1 base year plus 4 option years) firm fixed-priceIndefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract.
