negotiate with only one source, ARGO Systems, Inc. 324 N. Mary Avenue,
Sunnyvale, CA 94088-3452, for maintenance/repair services for
AS-4122/WLR-1H (V5) Antenna Assembly. Repairs shall be made in
accordance with ARGOSystems proprietary manufacturer and repair
processes. Required by 01 Mar 1997. The Request for Quotation will be
issued on or about 13 Sep 1996. The SIC code is 1731 and the small
business size standard is $7.0 million. Services required are available
from only one source and no other type of services will satisfy agency
technical requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for
competitive quotes. Interested parties have 15 days from the
publication date to submit their qualifications/capabilities.
Information will be used solely to determine whether to conduct this
procurement on a competitive basis. Responses not directly addressing
the ability to repair/maintain the above may be considered
non-responsive. It is suggested that small business firms or others
interested in subcontracting opportunities in connection with the
described procurement make contact with the firm listed. See Numbered
Notes 22 & 26. SPECIAL NOTE: For Minority, Women and Disadvantaged
Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of
Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to
assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to
acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firm to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0
million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the
DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to
provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is
