INTERNAL DOSE ASSESSMENTS FOR WORKERS THAT RECEIVED GREATER THAN 20 REM
COMMITTED EFFECTIVE DOSE EQUIVALENT (CEDE) FROM INTAKES OF VARIOUS
RADIOACTIVE ELEMENTS THAT OCCURRED AT MIAMISBURG MOUND FACILITY FROM

865-3816. This SOURCES SOUGHT Notice is issued to identify potential
sources (small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, woman-owned
small businesses, and large businesses for Pre-1989 Dose Assessment
Project to be conducted by EG&G Mound Technologies, Inc. a Management
and Operating Contractor under contract with the Department of Energy.
The Department of Energy has committed to make several improvements to
the Mound Radiological safety programs. One of thee commitments is to
perform internal dose assessments for all individuals whoa re estimated
to have received greater than 20 rem Committed Effective Dose
Equivalent (CEDE) from intakes that occurred at Mound and is
predecessors for 1943 to 1989. EG&G Mound intends to award a contract
for the effort outlined above on a full and open competitive basis. It
is contemplated that the resultant contract will be for two (2)
phases. Phase 1 will be Cost Plus Fixed Fee Completion. This Phase will
consist of the accumulation and analysis of personnel data; the
development of agorithms to estimated the does of each isotope that may
have caused internal dose from intakes of various radioactive material;
development of model for intakes involving various elements, and;
categorizing individuals who have received less than 20 rem CEDE and
those who have received greater than 20 rem CEDE. The Phase 1 contract
will contain an unpriced option for Phase 2 which will be Firm Fixed
Price. The data generated under Phase 1 will be utilized to develop a
Statement of Work for Phase 2. This Phase will require the contractor
to perform the dose assessments for all individuals identified in Phase
1. Interested companies should submit a letter of interest with a brief
description of their capabilities to perform the work outlined above.
