The Defense Special Weapons Agency (DSWA) is seeking commercial vendors of modular systems which utilize emerging information display and user-computer interaction technology (i.e. virtual reality, intelligent interface, voice recognition, etc.) to reduce operator workload while enhancing situational awareness and intuitive operation. The system sought must impose the smallest possible burden on mission configurations, transportation, deployment, operation, recovery and support capabilities of tactical force using it (them). Systems should ideally be wearable and usable by personnel ''On the Move'' without special setup requirement, and should not interfere with standard military clothing. Equipment, display systems, and sensor processing should provide the integrated information presentation (a common ''Look and Feel'') regardless of the particular suite or sensor types in use. Interested parties are requested to provide by 30 Sep 96: (1) specification or engineering documents or brochures which describe the capabilities of their commercially available or non-developmental item devices which meet the requirements specified above; (2) cost of these devices, both individually and in quantity; and (3) point(s) of contact who can provide additional information, if required. Based upon the results of this Sources Sought announcement, a solicitation may or may not be issued at a later date.
