Contractor shall supply Goniometer system for Vacuum Ion Channeling Measurements to be installed into existing vacuum chamber without interference with existing equipment. It is intended to award this contract to EPION Corp., Bedford, MA on a sole source basis. The Vacuum Goniometer system and the required peripheral control equipment for its use on our accelerator requires integration into an existing target chamber which has been previously configured for ion beam (NRA/FRES/RBS) analysis in conjunction with pulsed laser deposition studies. The suggested vendor was the vendor that previously configured this chamber for this dual use and is considered the only provider of the present replacement equipment that can integrate this goniometer into the chamber without compromising its ability to provide both its present and additional functions.
