Request for information regarding common range RF data link capability that can perform a wide variety of range communications functions, including aircraft, surface vehicle, personnel and range asset status and position reporting and control, (simulated) casualty assessment, and limited low-rate telemetry. The objective is to evolve to a DoD standard data link capability to meet a wide variety of T&E and Training range needs more effectively and efficiently. A panel of communications engineers representing the T&E and Training range communities of the tri-services is presently collecting technical information on existing and planned digital radio data communications systems and concepts, techniques and components, for potential application. Interested parties are invited to present data-link-related concepts and technologies for consideration, in written form. Subsequent briefings may be scheduled to the panel as follow-up to obtain more information following the written submittals. This project is in the marketing phase only. This is a request for information and the government is not obligated to provide any form of compensation to the respondents. This is NOT a Request for Proposal or Invitation for Bid.
