Cathy Mallay, Administration Contracting Officer, (703) 875- 1235;
Sharon Zavestoski, Contracting Officer, (703) 875-1592. Parsons (The
Ralph M. Parsons Company of Delaware) has started work on the $164.5
million United States Agency for International Development (USAID)
Municipal Infrastructure Services (MIS) Program. The program is
designed to restore utilities, roads, bridges and facilities in the
American IFOR sector of Bosnia. Its goal is to put the people of Bosnia
back to work in order to restart the economy and turn attention from
war to recovery. USAID is also extremely interested in getting American
companies involved in the recovery effort. A variety of products will
be needed, from paint to electrical equipment, and USAID wants US
companies to compete in the tender process. There are also
opportunities in areas such as equipment rental and other
entrepreneurial enterprises. Parsons has set-up a voice mail hotline in
their Washington, D.C. office to take calls and provide information.
The telephone number is (202) 775-6030. In addition to providing
information, Parsons would also like to hear ideas on improving
business opportunities in Bosnia for U.S. firms. For those US companies
already established in Eastern Europe, you can contact Parsons'
Sarajevo office by sending a fax. Our fax number is 387-71-652-647. We
will respond to all inquires and provide information. Parsons looks
forward to hearing from you and making your presence known on this
important project. (0248) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0136 19960905\Z-0016.SOL)
