DEPOT SPARE PACKAGE: The Range Application-Global Positioning System (GPS)-Full Rate Production system is used for Time Space Position Indication (TSPI) of DOD test aircraft and equipment. This solicitation is for a depot spare package to support the depot repair of this equipment. The Department of the Air Force is soliciting for the identification, fabrication, and storage of a spares package for the Range Application GPS equipment. This procurement is a one-time procurement of these articles. There are no drawings or data available for this equipment. Metric Systems Corporation, Fort Walton Beach, Florida is the manufacturer of this equipment which is currently in initial fabrication. The contract is expected in first quarter of Fiscal Year 1997 with complete delivery of the spares within 12 months after award of contract. A list of nomenclatures and system specifications for the equipment to be spared is available for review. Only bidders who can identify, fabricate, test, and certify direct replaceable units should respond. Bidders shall have a general understanding and knowledge of the Range Application GPS equipment. A statement of capability will be required. It is the intent of the USAF to issue a solicitation in September 1996 to those bidders who are qualified as a result of this market survey. The planned basis of award is best value for the Government.
