West Jackson, Chicago, IL 60604 66 -- ATOMIC ABSORPTION SPECTROPHOTOMETER GRAPHITE FURNACE POC Donna
Stingley/(312)353-1677, Contract Specialist or William A. Massie,
Jr./(312)886-5868, Contracting Officer. The EPA is seeking to purchase
an Atomic Absorption spectrophotometer Graphite (Transverse) Furnace
with multi-analyte capability. This instrument should be able to
perform EPA method 200.9 and achieve detection limits for Sb, As Se,
T1, below 1 ug/L while performing simultaneous analyses. This
instrument must have the following components: a suitable sample
introduction system for liquid samples, a graphite furnace capable of
the rapid heating necessary for stabilized temperature platform furnace
operation, a background correction system that will resolve analyte
signal from background on a fast transient basis (Zeeman effect
background correction is required), lamp power supplies for both hollow
cathode lamps (HCLs) and electrodeless discharge lamps (EDLs), an
optical system for isolating wavelengths of interest, a detector
capable of processing more than one analyte signal at a time, a cooling
unit to provide removal of excess heat from the furnace, a fume
extraction system, when coupled with the laboratory hood, provides a
safe removal of all vaporized sample matrix, analyte, and matrix
modifier, and a computer, printer, and software for controlling the
instrument and accessories. (242) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0316 19960903\66-0012.SOL)
