Strong, Contracting Officer (202) 205-7037 The U.S. Small Business Administration Office of Administrative Services intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Pitney Bowes for renewal of maintenance, meters and mail equipment. This requirement will require maintenance, upgrade of electronic scale (rate change), meters and mail machines. The contractor must be able to provide original Prom Software, maintenance and emergency repair service, new or used parts as required and a primary point of contact. The contractor must be licensed by the U.S. Postal Service to provide ''Postage-By-Phone'' meter heads via General Services Administration schedule to provide equipment on a rental/lease or purchase base. This will be a firm fixed price contract. Period of Performance shall be from the date of award through September 30, 1997, with three one year renewal options. Interested persons have 15 days from the date of the publication date to submit their proposals. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a full and open competition basis. Oral communication or faxed proposals are not acceptable in response to this synopsis. A determination by SBA not to compete this proposed contract on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this synopsis, is solely within the discretion of the SBA.
