intends to award a sole source (FAR 6.302-1) purchase order to
Interscience, Inc., 105 Jordan Road, Troy, New York 12180, to provide
support to the National Academy of Sciences Review of the Inertial
Confinement Fusion Program. This support will include observing several
meetings to be conducted by the National Academy of Sciences (NAS)
review committee for the inertial confinement fusion (ICF) program, and
preparing minutes and other required supporting documentation as
followup to those minutes. Persons observing these meetings must be
Q-level clearances. Period of performance is two months. (1) All
responsible sources may respond to this synposis and all responses will
be considered by this agency. (2) Responses should be referred to Craig
S. Frame, Contracting Officer, (202) 634-4588, U.S. Department of
Energy, Attn: HR-561.11, 1000 Independence Avenue, S.W., Washington,
D.C. 20585. (3) Interested parties must submit written responses,
describing their past experience in observing and preparing minutes and
other required supporting documentation for Review of the Inertial
Confinement Program. Responses must identify 01-96DP00137.000 and be
received by this office within fifteen (15) days after publication of
this notice. (4) No award will be made on the basis of any responses to
this notice because this synopsis of intent is to award a contract to
Interscience, Inc. and shall not be considered a solicitation document.
