Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) intends to award a SMALL PURCHASE ORDER, on a sole source basis, to University of Colorado on Aging Research (UCAR) for the development of two questionnaires to be used in structured interviews with physicians and with discharge planners in order to obtain information about nursing home case mix, staffing, practice patterns with respect to hospitalization, and views about the capability of the nursing home to provide a range of specialized services (e.g., IV care, monitoring vital signs hourly, etc.). The contractor will administer the questionnaires to physicians and discharge planners associated with 50 nursing homes. A final report is required by December 1996. Contractor must possess expertise in nursing home quality of care and quality indicators. If no reponses are received within 15 calendar days from the published date of this notice, HCFA will proceed to award a small purchase order to UCAR. ( See Note 22). (0236)
