The USDA, Food and Consumer Service (FCS) intends to issue a competitive solicitation, on or about 13 September 1996, for advisory and assistance services to enhance and maintain its National Nutrient Database for Child Nutrition Programs (NND/CNP). This procurement will require the contractor to collect nutrient data on commercially processed institutional food products for school food service from manufacturers and convert this data into the existing NND/CNP format and merge the data with existing files. The contractor will also prepare the merged files for public release and maintain the database as required. FCS estimates the duration of this contract to be 18 months with a 2 professional person year level of effort.
