COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF AUGUST 26,1996 PSA#1666Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, 17320 Dahlgren Road,
Dahlgren, Virginia 22448-5100 70 -- MATRIX SWITCH SYSTEM SOL N00178-96-Q-0191 DUE 091896 POC Barbara
Wynne, Purchasing Agent 540-653-4904. The Government intends to
purchase on a brand name or equal basis a Matrix Switching System as
manufactured by LANHOPPER Systems of Atlanta, GA. The system shall
consist of the following: P/N 97300 Model 7200 Glass-Hopper with 16 by
16 matrix which requires 4 switching modules (2 input and 2 output) (1
each). Each switching module will have 8 fibers so that there will be
16 fibers available for input and 16 fibers available for output. P/N
97740 Glass-Hopper M.8.62 Switching Modules (8 fibers per module) (2
each). P/N 97725 SNMP Interface and Software (1 each). P/N PM/92
PATHmaster server software license for Sun Solaris to include 4 CISCO
Catalyst SPAN licenses (1 each). P/N PM/32 CISCO Catalyst SPAN software
license for use on one Catalyst Switch (6 each). The Government
requires hardware and software that is capable of controlling the CISCO
Catalyst 5000 Series ethernet switches. The Matrix Switch control
software must run under the Sun Solaris Operating System. The matrix
switch must contain a fiber optic switching matrix and, when fully
configured, the matrix switch must support 72 network segments and/or
analyzer/probes. It must provide 2 power supplies with 110 or 220 volt
input. It must be rack mountable to standard rack mount. Segments can
be named throught the system control software by the network manager
to provide ease of use. Segment names can be a maximum of 25
characters. The matrix switch control software must be capable of
controlling a fiber matrix switch, a UTP matrix switch, an AUI matrix
switch and a WAN matrix switch. The software must provide
user-definable, interactive text-based configuration. The software must
show current connections in use and their owners. The software must
save all mappings of active connections so that manual recovery is not
necessary. It must provide multiple access to the same source network
segment on demand. It must provide control of the switch matrix device
with or without SNMP. It must provide a graphical user interface to
permit intuitive control of analyzer connectivity to a network source.
The control software must allow troubleshooting and/or test access to
begin almost instantaneously and the connection process must be
transparent to the user. The software should limit selection only to
those data sources ports that are reachable. The software should
provide for splitting the matrix switch from one large matrix into
multiple matrices. This allows each matrix to remain completely
separate for analysis, which allows separation of classified networks
for analysis and testing. The software must be available on multiple
platforms, including Sun Solaris and must support multiple clients,
such as Windows, Web Browsers and SunNET Manager. It must have an open
API to allow for custom programmatic integration. It must provide for
persistent connections so that all mappings of active connections are
saved and manual recovery is not required. The above is required to
enhance the current data gathering, statistics analysis, and
troubleshooting capabilities by adding a centrally managed,
intelligent, client-server network analysis system to view the entire
classified building network. This requirement is to provide easy port
switching on the ethernet links. The switching capability allows the
networks team to strategically locate a single analyzer in a multiple
segment ethernet environment. The system requires software to switch
between segments remotely. Award is to be made under Simplified
Acquisition Procedures. All responsible sources shall provide
manufacturer's specifications and software maintenance agreement with
their fax quote which shall be considered by the Naval Surface Warfare
Center, Dahlgren Division, Dahlgren, VA 22448. Fax number is
540-653-7016/6812, Attn: Barbara Wynne, Code S18. THE GOVERNMENT SHALL
NOT ISSUE A WRITTEN QUOTE AS ALL ITEMS ARE CALLED OUT IN THIS CBD
NOTICE. This procurement will be awarded on an all or none basis. All
items shall be shipped FOB Destination to the Naval Surface Warfare
Center, Dahlgren, VA 22448. Closing date is 18 September 1996.
Anticipate award by 23 September 1996. (0235) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0242 19960823\70-0005.SOL)
