Encoder performance requirements consist of 1) resolution-1.24 arc seconds; 2) accuracy-0.8 arc seconds; 3) quanta resolution- 1,048,576; 4) interrogation rate-5 kHz maximum; 5) data acqisition time-140 microseconds maximum; 6) date resolution-20 bits/turn, and 7) output code-unambiguous natural binary.
