(404) 347-3178 Request for proposals for the continued operation of the
Kittrell Job Corps Center located in Kittrell, North Carolina will be
available approximately September 12, 1996, for issue in response to
written request. It is anticipated that the resultant contract will
cover the period June 1, 1997 through May 31, 1999, plus 3 governmental
unilateral renewal options of one year. The approximate average
capacity strength is 350 students (150 residential males, 150
residential females, and 50 non-residential students of which 25 are
males and 25 females). Contract will provide direct outreach/admission
services for 175 students and statewide placement services for 1600
students. A pre-Proposal Conference for the Job Corps Center will be
convened at Kittrell Job Corps Center. There will be a tour of the
facility at Kittrell Job Corps Center at 9:00 a.m., local time on
September 24, 1996. The contractor shall provide Academic and
Vocational Training, operate a Counseling and Residential Living
Program, and operate the following support services: Health Services,
Processing of Student Records, Discipline System, Clothing Issue, Mail
Services and Legal Services. The contractor will also provide overall
Center Management and Administration as follows: Contract and
Personnel Administration, Staff Training, Financial Management,
Procurement and Property Management, Facility Operations and
Maintenance, Security and Safety Services, Community Relations and
Public Information. All questions prior to the Pre-Proposal Conference
should be submitted in writing. Requests for this solicitation should
include (2) self-addressed mailing labels. Proposals in response to
this RFP will be due no later than 4:00 p.m., local time on November
26, 1996 at the address listed above. Vance County is classified as a
labor surplus area by the U.S. Department of Labor. All responsible
sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency.
