The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Norfolk Detachment Washington intends to negotiate on a sole source basis a modification with AT&T under contract N00600-94-D-0344 in support of the Department of State domestic telecommunications services. The existing contract requires that AT&T operate and maintain the Department of State's telecommunications network providing switched voice, data and video services. The network currently consists of AT&T Definity G1, G2 and G3 switches, System 75 and 85 switches, remote switching modules and Expanded Port Networks in 28 locations. The intended modification is to extend the period for ordering new equipment for expansion and/or upgrade of the DOS networks for years 6-10 of the contract. No change in terms or conditions is contemplated. The existing contract, which was competed, requires one contractor to be solely responsible for the technical compatibility and maintenance of all telecommunications equipment installed under the contract.
