A -- CVX ENGINEERING PROCESS TEAMS (EPTS) IN DESIGNING AND DEVELOPING AIRCRAFT CARRIER SOL N00024-97-R-2100 DUE 111596 POC Mr. Kenneth Jalowiec, Contract Specialist, (703) 602-7519 Mr. James Lofgren, Contracting Officer, (703) 602-7519. The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue solicitation N00024-97-R-2100(Q) on or about 15 October 1996 for industry participation in CVX Aircraft Carrier Engineering Process Teams (EPTs) meetings, system/subsystem feasibility/producibility studies, and review and preparation of performance specifications. The focus of the EPTs will be in the following areas: (1) Total Ship Engineering; (2) Aviation and Strike Systems; (3) Joint Command, Control, Communication, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance; (4) Propulsion; (5) Research and Development Management; (6) Distributed Simulation Based Acquisition (Modeling and Simulation); (7) Reliability, Maintainability and Availability; (8) Combat Support and Information Systems; (9) Ship Concepts; (10) Ship and Human Support Systems; (11) Survivability and (12) Human System Integration. It is contemplated a draft solicitation will be distributed at the follow-on CVX Industry Briefing on 19 September 1996 with industry comments due on the draft no later than 1 October 1996. It is anticipated that up to six Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee (CPFF) contracts each for approximately $250K will be awarded in FY97. These contracts will contain four one year options for approximately $500K each. This procurement is unrestricted.
