Gonser, Contracting Officer, (301) 394-1604. This procurement is for the refurbishment of a Varian GEN II Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) reactor at Adelphi, MD. Specifically, this contract will provide for refurbishment in the following areas: source flange, pumping system, and temperature control. This procurement also includes the preparation of the MBE for shipment to Adelphi, MD before the refurbishment efforts. This procurement is being conducted as a sole source procurement to EPI MBE Products Group, St. Paul, MN, because EPI MBE Products Group holds the patent for the proprietary design of the GEN II system purchased from Varian, Inc.
