a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in
accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement is
issued as a request for quotation M6700196Q9646 and constitutes the
only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written
solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation document and
incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal
Acquisition Circular 90-38. The standard industrial classification
(SIC) code for this unrestricted requirement is 3743 and the small
business size standard is 1,000. Item 0001 1 (ea) railroad track
maintenance vehicle, reconditioned 1987, or comparable, GMC #7000
series, Model #S-306 or comparable, used to perform routine and
emergency maintenance on railroad tracks. Series 7000 chassis, 33,000
gross vehicle weight, 167'' wheel base, Detroit 8.2 ton, air base,
Clark 5 speed transmission, Lipe 14-2 clutch, 12,000 lb. front axle,
21,000 lb. rear axle, 5.57 ration, 23,000 Springs, 4,000 Aux., 11:00 x
20:00 tires, 4yd dump body 10' long, Rail Racks, Pintle hitch,
IMT-model 6014 crane, mounted B.O.C., 14' boom, 10,300 lb. maximum
capacity, 4200 lb capacity at maximum reach, Fairmont 25-45
reconditioned rail gear, unit freshly painted, completely serviced, New
York State Heavy Truck Safety Inspection, revolving or strobe light.
Item 0002 (1 ea) 1990 GMC, or comparable, railroad track maintenance
and inspection vehicle, GMC P-30, Model #S-296, or comparable, used to
perform railroad track maintenance and inspection. Utilimaster
aluminum truck cab, 350 gas engine, automatic transmission with cooler,
power steering and brakes, roof vent, strobe or revolving light, 9''
flatbed style body, side mounted tool boxes, welding tank storage rack,
vehicles fully serviced and New York State Inspected, Hi-Rail, Fairmont
0307 rail gear with steel or rubber treads, gear 100% rebuilt to
factory specifications, derail skids, rail sweeps front, front bumpers
and sight rods, rear bumper. Both vehicles shall include a 30 day
warranty, or better, and all operating manuals for truck, rail gear,
and boom. Any deviation from these specifications shall be fully
explained. Delivery shall be 30 days, or less, after receipt of order,
to Freight Traffic Branch, Bldg. 1011, Camp Lejeune NC. Delivery shall
be F.O.B. destination. Award will be based on price and price related
factors. The following Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) provisions

(b)(6) through (9); DFARS 252.212-7001 contract terms and conditions
required to implement statutes or executive orders applicable to

provide their Contractor's Establishment Code (CEC) and Commercial and
Government Entity (CAGE) Code with their quote. The CAGE code entered
must be for that name and address provided by the Contractor. If the
offeror does not have a CAGE code, it may ask the Contracting Officer
to request one from the Defense Logistics Services Center (DLSC).
Period for acceptance of offers is 30 calendar days. Offerors
responding to this announcement shall submit their offers in accordance
with 52.212-1 and shall include a completed copy of provision 52.212-3
and 252.225-7000. Closing date 09 Sep 96, 4:00 p.m. Submit quotes to
