Crawford (816) 926-2334 The U.S. Department of Agriculture s National Information Technology Center (NITC) is seeking marketing and technical documentation and any other literature on three (3) types of data communications software for IBM-compatible, large scale, mainframe computers and UNIX/AIX-type mid-range computers. The first is information about EDI translator software which is compatible with MVS/ESA version 4.3, OS/390 version 2, UNIX and AIX. The translator must support X12 and EDIFACT. The second is information about data communications facilitator software which operates separate from protocols, platforms and application products. The facilitator must support BSC, SNA, TCP/IP and X.25 protocols. Also, the facilitator must be compatible with MVS/ESA version 4.3, OS/390 version 2, UNIX and AIX platforms. The third is information about file transfer software which functions across multiple platforms, protocols and interfaces. The file transfer software must support BSC, SNA, TCP/IP and X.25 protocols and be compatible with VMS, MVS/ESA, OS/390, UNIX and AIX platforms. Vendors are requested to submit one copy of technical information showing their product(s) capabilities and one (1) copy of all marketing information with cost information. The information should be submitted within 15 days of the publication of this notice. The USDA will not pay for any information submitted in response to this notice, nor will such information be returned to the vendor, except where a self-addressed, stamped, return package is enclosed.
