30, 1997. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items
prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as
supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This
announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being
requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation
No. 5114-6-3033 is being issued as a Request for Proposal. This
solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those

Regularly scheduled service shall be arranged for in advance with the
Purchasing Office to assure operator attendance and inspection.
Service shall include a periodic preventative maintenance visit(s) as
shown and unlimited emergency service due to breakdown (not caused by
negligence) and all parts (except rotor and tubes unless otherwise
indicated). Excluded parts shall be covered on a separate purchase
order(s). Requested emergency services shall be performed within
twenty-four (24) hours of time called. Scheduled service on all
instruments shall be performed at least one during each six month
period, unless otherwise specified. Scheduled service shall consist of
thoroughly cleaning, calibrating and adjusting equipment in accordance
with established manufacturer's service procedures or recommendation
and replacing normal maintenance and repair material such as gaskets,
witches, oils, and greases as needed. Service reports shall be prepared
for each instrument serviced (indicating parts and labor charged),
shall be verified and signed by operating personnel and these reports
must be turned in to the purchasing office by the service. FAR

will be evaluated on price and price related factors. Proposals are to
be received Not Later than 2:00 pm (CST), September 9, 1996 at
USDA-ARS-MWA, Contracting Office, 1815 N. University Street, Peoria, IL
