to provide interested parties with the following information: NOTICE TO
PROSPECTIVE OFFERORS--The Request for Proposals (RFP), amendments and
other related items will be posted on the Internet and should be
downloaded from the following site: www.epa.gov/oam. At the EPA's
Office of Acquisition Management (OAM) WWW Home Page, select the
Headquarters Division (Washington, DC) location. Under ''Current
Procurements'', select ''Modeling Support for Exposure Assessment'',
RFP #W600179B2. Interested companies must forward requests to be placed
on the bidders list to the mailing address above, via E-mail at
BARTON.KATHRYN@epamail.epa.gov, or by FAX at (202) 260-6483. If
Internet capability is unavailable, interested parties must submit
written verification stating such to Kathryn Barton so that hard copies
of these documents may be provided. THE TEXT OF THE ORIGINAL SYNOPSIS
IS AS FOLLOWS: The EPA is seeking a contractor to provide modeling
support for exposure assessment and to maintain the Graphical Exposure
Modeling System (GEMS) and the personal computer version of GEMS
(PCGEMS). Work assignments under a level-of-effort contract will be
issued to the contractor who possesses the expertise needed to: (1)
locate, acquire, and implement environmental computer models to be used
to provide exposure assessments for the Office of Prevention,
Pesticides and Toxic Substances (OPPTS); (2) locate, acquire, and
implement data bases, e.g., environmental data and demographic data,
and link them with the exposure models; (3) organize the exposure
models and data under GEMS and PCGEMS; (4) apply the computer models to
support exposure and risk assessments of specific chemicals; (5)
implement mapping and graphical display capabilities to facilitate
modeling, analysis of modeling results, and the presentation of
results; and (6) keep the GEMS and PCGEMS system software,
applications, and documentation up-to-date. The period of performance
will consist of a 12-month base period, beginning on or about October
1, 1996, with four one-year option periods. Base level of effort per
year is 10,000 hours with up to 5,000 optional hours for an estimated
overall total of 75,000 hours. It is anticipated that the type of
contract will be cost-plus-fixed-fee, and will be set-aside for small
