project consists of furnishing all labor, materials and equipment
necessary for, but not limited to, the following: demolition and
disposal of the existing five (5) cell wood framed roof mounted cooling
tower and related piping, demolition of condenser water piping from the
cooling towers to the chillers, duplex strainer removal, chilled water
filter removal, expansion tank removal, removal and other demolition
items shown to be removed and/or replaced, electrical demolition;
installation rigging of a four (4) cell induced draft-cooling tower and
related heaters, controls and accessories; installation of condenser
water piping, piping supports, valves and accessories from the cooling
tower to the chillers; installation of a pressurized diaphragm type
ASME rated expansion tank and accessories for the chilled water system;
installation of a duplex strainer on the condenser water system; piping
insulation and protective coverings; installation of a chilled water
by-pass filtration system; installation of steam piping from the
existing pressure reducing stations to the cooling tower sump
injectors; and, balancing and testing of the condenser water system and
all equipment installed under the contract. An informal walk-through is
scheduled for Wednesday, August 14, 1996, 10 a.m., convening in Room
580 of the Processing & Distribution Center, 2970 Market Street,
Philadelphia, PA. On-site contact is Mr. William Dobbins (215)
895-8234. Offerors must be experienced in electrical/mechanical work
and primarily engaged in this line for a minimum of five (5) years, and
who, in addition, must have satisfactorily completed at least three (3)
projects of similar size and scope. The estimated cost range is between
$500,000.00 and $800,000.00 with completion within 150 calendar days
after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Due date for receipt of offers is
August 30, 1996, 4 p.m. Cost of the plans and specifications for this
project is $50 per set, nonrefundable. Be sure to reference the subject
solicitation number on your request. If you desire plans for this
project, please send your request, along with your fee remittance made
