The Long Beach Job Corps, which is located at 1903 Santa Fe Avenue, Long Beach, California will be a residential training program for economically disadvantaged youth, between the ages of 16-24. Contractors will be expected to manage and operate a Government-owned facility and hire staff for residential living, basic education, vocational training and provision of Health services. Also the contractor will need to comply with the Governor's Coordination and Special Services Plan. All activities will be in compliance with applicable DOL/Job Corps Regulations, policies and handbooks. Actual issuances of CBD Notices will be followed by pre-proposal conferences and walk-thrus. Those responding affirmatively to this notice, through a written request to the Contracting Officer, will be sent a copy of the solicitation, 15 days after publication of the CBD notice. Request for proposals for the operation of the Long Beach Job Corps Center located in Long Beach, California will be available approximately August 30, 1996 for issue in response to written request. It is anticipated that the resultant contract will cover the period May 1, 1997 through April 30, 1999, with the center actually opening November 1, 1997 plus three governmental unilateral renewal options of one year. The approximate average capacity strength is 300 students (132 residential men and 132 residential women and with a nonresidential capacity of 36; 24 women and 12 men). A Pre-proposal conference for the Job Corps Center will be convened at 10:00 am on September 13, 1996 at 71 Stevenson Street, Suite 1010, San Francisco, California.
