of an existing EDAX PV9100 Energy Dispersive System (EDS) is sought for
a Cambridge S200 scanning electron microscope equipped with an ECAX
ECON4 EDS detector. The upgraded system shall be PC-Based, and Windows
95 compatible. The software and hardware will be optimized to the
output signal generated by the ECON 4 EDS detector. The system shall
perform spectral elemental analysis for the specimens being examined in
the scanning electron microscope. Qualitative system capabilities shall
include automatic calibration and automatic and manual peak
identification. The system shall have the ability to overlay spectra
and include graphical methods for separating and identifying
complicated peak overlaps. Quantitative system capabilities shall
include true standardless quantification analysis without referencing
any standards. It shall include advanced peak stripping software
overlaying the fitted spectra on top of the collected spectra.
Calculations for rough, multilayer, and smooth samples and carbon
coating thickness correction shall be available. Background corrections
capability shall be included into the system. Only quotes on the brand
name and model numbers specified will be considered. Delivery to
Cleveland, Ohio 44135. Delivery schedule is 45 calendar days after
contract award. This notice is for information only. NASA-Lewis intends
to contract with: EDAX International. This is a combined
synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the
only solicitation, proposals are being requested and a written
solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation and incorporated
provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition
Circular 90-37. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for
this acquisition is 3577. The Small Business Size Standards is 1000
employees. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified
Acquisition Threshold (SAT) portion of the Federal Acquisition
Streamlining Act (FASA). The following provisions apply to this
acquisition: 52.212-1 - Instructions to Offerors - Commercial, 52.212-4
- Contract Terms and Conditions and 52.212-5, Contract Terms and
Conditions Required To Implement Statutes Or Executives Orders -
Commercial Items. Offerors must include a completed copy of the
provision 52.212-3 - Offeror Representations and Certifications -
Commercial Items with their offer. All documents related to this
