Privott, 804/441-6560. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate
on a sole source basis with AAA Travel Agency, Charleston, South
Carolina, for services to provide travel coordination for the NOAA
Coastal Services Center, Charleston, SC. Authority: 41 USC 253 (c) (1).
AAA Travel Agency currently processes all travel operations for the
Coastal Services Center as required by the Travel Management Center
contract for the state of South Carolina, and therefore, is the only
known source capable of performing this requirement. The proposed
contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government
intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority
of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and
capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This
notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However,
all proposals received within forty-five days after date of publication
of this synopsis will be considered by the government. A determination
by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon
responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the
government. Information received will normally be considered solely for
the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive
procurement. The contractor shall provide the following services:
preparation of travel orders; Government Travel Regulation (GTR) air
fare and travel invoice reconciliation; travel expense reconciliation;
arrangement of lodging, rental car, and meeting space accommodations;
and arrangement of air, rail and ground transportation. Contractor
must have knowledge of and experience with Government Travel
Regulations (GTR), Apollo CRS software programs, Quality Control
Program (AQUA), and Travel Manager Plus software used by the Department
of Commerce. A professional travel service is required which has had
previous experience working with NOAA and other federal agencies, and
extensive knowledge of and experience with Government Travel
Regulations. Period of performance is October 1, 1996, through
September 30, 1997, with two one-year options. Copies of the
solicitation will only be provided in response to written or faxed
