Rodgers (301) 975-6396 The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate with The MathWorks, Inc., 24 Prime Park Way, Natick, MA 01760-1500 to acquire on a sole source basis Floating Network Licenses of the following programs to run on Sun Microsystems platform: Extended Symbolic Math Toolbox EM-11, 3 users, Statistics Toolbox ST-10, 3 users, MATLAB ML6-42c, 4 users, Wavelets Toolbox WA-10, 2 users, MATLAB C Math Library MA-10, 1 user, MATLAB Compiler CO-10 1 user, SIMULINK SL-13c, 1 user. Licensed Base Platform (Sun Microsystems). Maintenance and Support for one year after delivery. MATLAB is a technical computing environment for high performance numeric computation and visualization. MATLAB integrates numerical analysis, matrix computation, signal processing, and graphics in an easy-to-use environment where problems and solutions are expressed just as they are written mathematically--without traditional programming. MATLAB is currently running on the CAML Sun Workstations computing system which has been used extensively by mathematicians and scientists at NIST. Required delivery within 30 days after contract award--FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD. The Government has a need of extra capacity of MATLAB software to meet the increasing demands from its staff. For compatibility and familiarity, Mathworks, Inc. is the only source which can provide the MATLAB software. The MATLAB toolboxes are extensions of MATLAB which can only be obtained from the MathWorks, Inc. Interested offerors may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirements by submitting a capability statement. The capability statement must provide the requested supplies in order for the Government to consider whether to open this request for competition. However, all capability statements received within 45 days after date of preparation of this synopsis, will be considered by the Government. See Note Numbered 22 (0208)
