Z -- RENOVATE BLDG 206 WARDS 63 EAST AND 63 WEST SOL IFB # 402-12-96 DUE 090596 POC Kathleen McLean, Contracting Officer, (207) 623-5717 RENOVATE BLDG. 206, WARDS 63 EAST AND 63 WEST: Furnish all labor, materials and equipment necessary to Renovate Bldg. 206, Wards 63E & 63W at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Medical and Regional Office Center, Togus, Maine. Work shall include: General construction, alteration to 11,000 sq. ft. in preparation of a twenty-eight (28) bed psychiatric ward, demolition, asbestos removal, mechanical, electrical, fire protection and various incidental tasks associated with this project. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. Completion time: 270 calendar days. A $75 refundable deposit is required in the form of a cashier's check or money order for each set of plans and specifications. All requests for plans and specs shall be in writing to the Contracting Officer (90C), Department of Veterans Affairs, Medical and Regional Office Center, Togus, Maine 04330. Only one (1) set of bid documents will be furnished to each firm. Bid packages will be available on a first come first served basis, when the supply is depleted no additional plans or specs will be printed. Plans and specs will be available o/a 8/9/96. A pre-bid meeting will be held on August 15, 1996, at 10:00 a.m. in Bldg. 202, Engineering Conference Room. Immediately following the pre-bid meeting, contractors may visit the job site for inspection purposes. A second walk through of the job site will be held on August 26, 1996 at 1:00 p.m. Proposed bidders will meet in Bldg. 202, Engineering Conference Rm, for a formal walk through of the job site. No other site visits shall be authorized prior to Bid opening. Bid opening date will be September 5, 1996, at 2:00 p.m. in Bldg. 205, Rm 316. All bids must be time and date stamped in Bldg. 205, Rm. 312 prior to the 2:00 p.m. bid opening. SIC: 1542. In accordance with PL 100-656 this solicitation is being advertised on a unrestricted basis. Construction cost range: Between $500,000 and $1,000,000. (0206)
