The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWPNSDIV) China Lake, CA intends to procure wind tunnel testing for the Advanced Missile Airframe Advanced Technology Demonstration (AMAATD). Testing is required at Mach numbers of 0.4, 0.8, 0.95, and 1.1 with angles-of-attack (AOA) ranging from 0 to 80 degrees or greater in one installation. The wind tunnel model support hardware shall be capable of performing both pitch pause and pitch sweeps over the required Mach and AOA ranges at any roll angle between 0 and 180 degrees. The wind tunnel model support hardware shall be capable of performing both roll pause and roll sweeps between 0 and 180 degrees over the required Mach, AOA, and roll ranges. The AMAATD model is 2.0 inches in diameter and is 38.3 inches in length. Over the required AOA range, the missile model shall not come within 12.0 inches of the wind tunnel wall. Submitted proposals for this procurement shall include drawings of the AMAATD model attached to model support hardware verifying that the model shall not come within 12.0 inches of the wind tunnel wall. RFP N68936-96-R-0285 including a statement of work will be issued approximately l5 days after the date of this synopsis and will close approximately 30 days thereafter. An October l996 award is anticipated. The period of performance will be stated in the RFP. All responsible sources may submit a proposal in response to the RFP which shall be considered by the agency. (0206)
