The new Acton Station is a one-story brick building with stone and cast stone accents and is approximately 17,890 adjusted gross interior square feet. Four-ply built-up roofing on main areas, standing seam metal roof on mailing platform, carrier platform and entry cover; steel framed, brick veneer on 8'' metal stud walls; concrete slab on grade with perimeter beams and 18'' diameter straight shafts. Interior finishes include painted gypsum board, acoustical tile and suspended ceilings, carpet, VCT, and porcelain tile. Natural aluminum window and door frames with insulated gray glass; concrete drives and parking areas and concrete drive for mail drop boxes. Also on site will be a septic system; water and electric utilities. The site fronts North Gate Road off of FM 4 in Granbury. Estimated cost range $1,500,000-$1,700,000 and construction time is 240 calendar days. Successful offeror must submit their Subcontracting Plan for Small and Minority-Owned, and Woman-Owned Business initially and thereafter with their progress payment requests. The contractor must subcontract with minority business firms in an amount aggregating not less than 10% of the total value of its subcontracts. A 20% proposal bond is required on all proposals. The successful contractor will be required to provide 100% Performance and 50% Payment Bonds within forty-eight (48) hours after notification of award. Offers will be received in this office, prior to, but not later than 3:30 p.m. on August 22, 1996. Proposal documents, plans and specifications will be available on July 22, 1996 at a cost of $180,000 per set (NON-REFUNDABLE) payable by check or money order only.
