Walter Reed Army Medical Center intends to solicit for a contractor to provide microprocessor audiometers (MA) for use by the Medical Departments of the Armed Forces with a government-furnished automated monitoring audiometry software program. The MA must test .5K, 1K, 2K, 3K, 4K and 6K Hz, with 8K Hz being an optional selection, for up to eight individuals, simultaneously. The intensity range must extend from -10 to 100 dB HTL in 5 dB attenuation steps and the MA response time must be compatible with 486 and/or pentium processors. Specific versions of the MA interface software are required for Microsoft DOS, Windows 95 and Windows NT and the MA must meet ``plug and play'' standards. Additional, but not all required features, include: removable MA boards for electroacoustic calibration via the software and keyboard, manual override of automated test procedures; mounting brackets for ships and mobile vans; operational under various 110/220 power sources and harsh environmental conditions; and portable not exceeding 10 lbs.
