This seminar also orientates the potential and existing small business owner with other programs and services available to the entrepreneur in the Northern Virginia area. Highly recommended to organize pre-venture and initial business development with critical planning skills and information to assist in developing accomplished entrepreneurs. Legal Start - $20.00, a bi-monthly three hour seminar (1 - 5 pm) designed to help you understand your legal obligations, advantages and opportunities for your small business - Forms of business organization-factors to consider when choosing structure - Leases and other contracts - formation, elements, interpretation, uniform commercial code, lease vs. rent - Business borrowing-terms, default, etc - Intangible assets-patents, copyrights, trademarks - Employer legal obligations - Private investment documents/information. This session is very interactive and useful for new AND existing businesses. Managing Risks for the Small Business Owner - $20.00 (Insurance Start), a two hour monthly (first Wednesday of each month, 2:00 - 4:00 pm) primer on how to mitigate the risks you face in your business. Do you know what types of insurance your business needs and how this type of coverage will protect and position the growth of your business? - Types of cause of loss coverage - Replacement cost coverage - Co-insurance explanation - Commercial general liability - Business auto coverage - Worker's compensation - Umbrella excess liability.
